Tie Breaker

Today after much waiting, anticipation, and "discussion" among the siblings the tie has been broken, in July, the girls will out number the boys!!! Although Peach is very upset that we won't name his baby sister Theodore, the girls are very excited. After seeing his oldest daughter be baptized, we're not sure if daddy can handle letting four of his precious daughter belong to "some" boy one day, but I know he will. Walt is the best daddy in the universe, I've been told by each of his girls personally. Boys seem to grow up to be men, but our little girls are always our little girls......

Wolves and Bears at Fremont Indian State Park

Here is our Cub scout troop at Fremont Indian State Park. It is our wonderful museum in clear creek canyon about the fremont indians. They discovered a huge site of 106 structures when they were building the highway through there in 1983. They were able to preserve 10,000 bags of artifacts from the dig and most of them are on display at the museum. There is also one of the nicest displays of indian rock art on a short hike around the museum.

They have a replica of a pit house and a granery that they boys were able to climb down in and our guide brought out the atalatls and let the boys see what it was like to try and hunt for their food with such weapons. It was an awesome experiance for them.

Nathan's Arrow of Light

Nathan has being working very hard with his Webelos leader and he has earned his arrow of light!! He didn't think he should stop there, so he went on to earn all 20 of the Webelos activity badges. This was no small feat! We are very proud of him for his hard work in achieving his goal. He has set a new goal to earn all 120 merit badges as a boy scout. They say less than 2% of boy scouts achieve this goal.....GO NATHAN! We'll keep you all posted.

Tuesday, January 6, 2009

After 21 moves and 5 states we are contemplating yet another move. Five years in a single house is just too much. We will let you know if there is life after Utah.

The boys are getting into scouts in earnest now and Nathan is already earning merit badges. He is excited to go on his first camp out this spring. Grandpa is his scout leader so this should be fun.

Wyatt can't wait for the weather to warm up so he can ride his horse again. Meanwhile he is testing the structural integrity of the walls by bouncing off of all of them simultaneously. Who needs caffeine anyway?

Meann is looking forward to her baptism later this month. She wants to get baptized on the same date as her grandfather. Just a few short (49) years later. It will make it easier to remember.

Hazel wants to quit school and be a stay at home kid. She thinks that two hours is too long to be away from her dolls and mom and dad and Ned and Peach. Oh yeah, the new puppies too.

Peach thinks he can rearrange the furniture and the walls all by himself. After breakfast its roundup time for his thousands of toy horses. This is no small task as he only has fifty trucks and trailers to fit them all in. The good news is there are plenty of mac' n cheese fences available to corral them all.

Ned is still stinkin' cute and if anyone wants to volunteer to change a diaper just let us know. She has decided to talk now but no one has quite figured out what language she chose. She also likes to sing during the prayer in church.

As for the baby, well I think eets a feesh. More on that later.......
