Wolves and Bears at Fremont Indian State Park

Here is our Cub scout troop at Fremont Indian State Park. It is our wonderful museum in clear creek canyon about the fremont indians. They discovered a huge site of 106 structures when they were building the highway through there in 1983. They were able to preserve 10,000 bags of artifacts from the dig and most of them are on display at the museum. There is also one of the nicest displays of indian rock art on a short hike around the museum.

They have a replica of a pit house and a granery that they boys were able to climb down in and our guide brought out the atalatls and let the boys see what it was like to try and hunt for their food with such weapons. It was an awesome experiance for them.
